Tom Sykes is an architectural designer living, working and teaching in London and Cardiff. His architectural focus is on the ways in which people inhabit and occupy the world around them, with a particular interest in the ways architecture can suggest interaction and play, and resist the perpetual danger of ‘tidying’ the city. Methodologically Tom prefers to work in drawing and artefact, re-purposing and re-presenting everyday objects to inspire users and the public to interpret the city around them creatively. As such fiction, myth, perspective and scale become tools for imaginative engagement. Tom also works as an artist and magician.
